Built with the support of The Canadian Encyclopedia and municipal, provincial and federal governments, The Cities in Time series of native mobile apps for iOS and Android highlighted the history of Canadian cities through "then and now" photos, slideshows, trails, and stories.
Exploring the Sites
The 150+ Toronto in Time sites were categorized by area and theme. The apps also included curated walking trails that users could follow as they explored the sites in real time.
Back in Time
Archival photos were matched with contemporary ones and superimposed using an animated transition.
Companion Website
The Toronto in Time companion website presented all of the content from the app in a full-size format.
